So, I doubt anyone still reads this blog, especially since no one writes anything here, butI told you guys about this amazing song, Healer and the Youth Pastor, Mike Guglielmucci that wrote it after being diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer of the blood. Well, he had been in a wheelchair and has since been healed in his legs and such and now can at least walk again, though he is still hanging on to hope that he will be healed of his cancer. Well, as they recorded the CD at the Planet Shakers conference, he was able to walk out and do flow time before they recorded the song. here is the video. This will rock your face off. Learn to Trust in God completely. It may not be easy, but I promise it is definitely worth it!

Bowling on the River

OK, maybe not on the river, but still we are are bowling. We will be @ Don Carter’s in BR from 7:30pm until around 10 or 10:30pm. The cost is roughly $10-$12 per person, but you may want to bring extra for snacks, video games and such. We will be in touch with each of you regarding transportation. We are hoping to have everyone carpool, so if you can drive and have room for others please let us know ASAP!

More Adjustments

OK guys and girls,

There is one slight adjustment to make here. Servolution has been postponed until September, so we will not be coming into BR to join forces with Highland. However, we will have a mini-servolution St. Franny Campus-style! Pastor Timmy has decided to push the Widows Ministry back from Friday to that Saturday. We are going to join in on the Widows Ministry that day and serve the widows by cutting their grass and cleaning their yards (so ladies you can be just as involved). We will serve the widows beginning about 8am Saturday and wrap it up around 1pm when we will head to the office for FREE FOOD! There will be more details later.

This Just In: Change Is Good!

Calendar Changes for July:

This Sunday, we will be meeting together at the Mag instead of in our usual Life Groups. So, be at the Mag at 6:30pm.

Other notable changes:

We are scrapping the whole Blue Bayou thing. Instead we are going to jump in with the Highland Campuses outreach Event to end all outreach events: SERVOLUTION 2007! With that, we are also going to postpone the Saturday outreach in St. Franny on the 14th.

So basically, July should look as follows:

Sunday Night, the 8th – Refuge at the Mag, 6:30pm

Friday Night, the 13th – we are going to have a Wii/Movie Night at the Office @ around 9pm. The bonus here is that we are also having our monthly HPC leaders worship and prayer night that evening @7pm and Pastor Timmy wanted me to invite all of our Refuge students out to that. We will have acoustic worship, and a word from Pastor T-Squirrel. Immediately afterward, we will break out two Nintendo Wii’s and watch some classic movie(s). Last time it was Princess bride, this time who knows! Be there to find out!

Friday Night, the 20th – Bowling at Don Carter’s Bowling Alley. Check back here for more details on when we are meeting and how much it will cost.

Saturday, the 28th – SERVOLUTION 2007. The Most Amazing, Huge, Outrageous Outreach of all time! there will be more details soon on this as well.

A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. “Hear that?” you say. “That’s dynamite, baby.”

Side note: Remember, if you’re coming to camp to meet at the Annex in Baton Rouge at 7am!! Get excited!

Refuge OLD SCHOOL ///// Kickball

We will not have Life Groups Sunday night because we are going to have REFUGE OLD SCHOOL at the Office! So be there Sunday night at 6:30. Also, even though Griffis mentioned it already: don’t miss KICKBALL on Saturday at 5pm. And don’t forget the 5 ‘K’s of kickball: Kick, Krunch, Kill, Kapture, and Kick.

Just because swans mate for life, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. First of all, if you’re a swan, you’re probably not going to find a swan that looks much better than the one you’ve got, so why not mate for life?

Kickball This Saturday!

You heard it here ~~first~~ . . . most recently. Refuge will be rocking the kickball at the Sport’s Park this Saturday @ 5pm. Be there or be not there, that is the statement. Choose your own adventure. Fun times at kickball high or weak times at not playing kickball boring. As for me and my house, we will kickball!

Ignore the LateNite part and the part with the date and time at the end of the video, but still enjoy!
